Dog thread!🐾

Dogs are for life. I will live in a cardboard box before I would even think of them going somewhere besides right at my side.

When I was a kid dogs out on chains was normal. I even remember the neighbors had a border collie whose collar was bolted on and a deep path worn where the dog ran back and forth. :hitIt was so sad. I'm glad dogs are family now for the most part. They do belong with their human pack and not outside.

I would to.

It is sad.
My grandparents had a gsd x husky and he loved outside he would sit anf whine at the door. Although he was chained he had a dog house and got to roam free when my grandpa or we were with him. He lived to over 15 and was the healthiest dog i knew.

Now my neighbors keep their dogs chained and its horrible

Lick mats tonight we have 30-40mph winds and the real feel is zero.

I'm trying something different with Luna. Yesterday the plumber (who is obviously a dog lover) was over and, of course, all Luna wanted to do is bark in his face. Instead of telling her "no" and getting her to back off, I tried bringing Luna near him and giving treats and having her do tricks to make her associate visitors with treats. I'm not sure it made a difference...it definitely quiets her down in the moment and keeps us in a better mood, but that's it. If I stopped she went right back to barking and growling in his face with her hackles raised, especially if he paid any attention to her or carried something large. The plumber was like, "she knows she gets treats for barking!" 😐 Should I continue with this method and see if there is an improvement or try something different? By now barking at people (including people she knows and plays with) is a habit for Luna.

It could be worth a shot. Idk.
