Is it even possible to gross out people on a poultry forum? I thought your mole discovery was very interesting!

I never saw the gross rodent picture, it was deleted before I had a chance to see it. Hardly nothing grosses me out.

Yes it's 12 Above right now this morning, it feels so nice outside after the 28 below yesterday morning!! And it's getting light outside! heavenly

I am enjoying the increase in light. My fingers are still freezing outside, at least it takes a bit longer.

Maybe I need to repost my gross rat tailed mole. It sure freaked me out.

Any idea what it is? I've seen moles, but never this big and with that rat tail. Wish I had taken the pictures before it got buried in the bucket. I hope to never see another, and especially one walking around.

I searched for star nosed mole
But haven’t read any of the sites yet, so don’t know for sure if that’s it. Yours is bigger than what I’ve read so far..

Edited to add: during winter the tail swells to 3 or 4 times its normal diameter. And your picture shows that swollen tail!

4am 1F , holding on with our teeth to stay above zero
I actually went out yesterday. it wasn't too bad at 15F. have a couple inches of new snow. still shouldn't have to plow.
can't wait to get into the shop and make some sawdust..
