Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

kind of a gloomy looking day, starting out.
44F
yesterday bro Dave installed the new motion light
have to adjust it in the dark, I guess.
I took a close look at the tree that fell across the back driveway. it is more than a tip. the whole tree broke off.
for the first time the wild cat came when I fed him
he waits until he hears the house door close.
Annie is doing much better,.

Glad to hear Annie is on the mend!

Weather has been wild lately, hasn't it? Feels like the monsoon season here -- except Wednesday night. I don't think monsoons ever include hail. 😨 It only got about pea-sized here, but a friend in Fort Dodge got more than marble-sized hailstones across her yard.

With both roosters rehomed last Saturday, it's much quieter now. Easier to hear the wee-hour coyotes calls, I guess.

Today, I am heading to my hometown for what is being billed as the "Groovy Gathering," at the American Legion, complete with appetizers, open bar and a deejay. Everyone is invited who attended our high school in the 1970s. Imagine, 10 years worth of old -- possibly tipsy -- people, trying not to break anything while gyrating on a dance floor!!

today I go to the VA to have my hearing checked and have my aides adjusted.
when I come home I want to see if I can get the insta pot to work on pressure cook mode,
I want to make some bbq ribs,
I also want to adjust the new motion light, it doesn't turn on with motion,
42F and cloudy. the river has been running high
I hope we get some of this rain in July and August
I went to a multiyear class reunion , everybody looked the same age..

Hope all went well at the VA, Jim.
Did you figure out how to make the Insta Pot do your bidding?

Lisa, have you been able to get anything planted? IF it doesn't rain today, I am hoping to at least get my onion sets in the ground.

Good news: Although there was a deejay at the reunion, there wasn't a dance floor. So, no oldsters were injured trying to do "The Hustle" or any other vintage moves. Name tags were optional, so I may have seen a lot of people I used to know, but didn't recognize them. A few I did recognize, I wish I hadn't.

Barb, I am glad you survived the reunion unscathed.
all kinds of good news here.
I repotted a dozen tomatoes, peppers and squash into larger pots. have them in the wheelbarrow so I can take them inside the garage if it looks like it might get too cold. I didn't know if I should have covered the stems of the squash. so I did.
then bro Dave showed up and fiddled with the new motion light. it doesn't go on in the light of day. so I checked it this morning. it did go on. and off, so I guess it is working.,
yes, the insta pot is figured out, all it took was five minutes to read the directions carefully.
since Annie decided to make beef barley soup, the bbq ribs are on hold for a couple of days.
35f this morning.

I did plant lettuce and radish last week, and today I planted my canna bulbs. Every year there are less of them. Eventually I will run out.

My goose hatch out some goslings. The nest had too many eggs and 3 didn't make it. 5 are doing well today.
