This is my favourite Light Sussex hen Daisy. She has been off lay since October and around the same time her comb became very dry and much paler than usual. Over the last couple of weeks she has also had some patches of dried blood and scabs on her face. She has been treated for mites. She is still eating, drinking and behaving as normal (she's the boss) but it looks unsightly and I'm worried that something else is causing it. In these pictures she has been living inside for 2 days and I have cleaned her face and rubbed some coconut oil into the dry skin.
Any advice appreciated!

"Did you ever figure this out? One of my chickens seems to have the same thing going on. "

Did you treat your coop including nestboxes and ceiling as well thoroughly? If not she just might get sucked dry the longer she stays in the coop.

You could wrap a double-sided adhesive tape around the ends of the roost right where they meet the wall. So on their way to feed on the chickens they get stuck on the tape. Works also the other way round: Any mites the chickens might bring in from outside will get stuck on their way to hide in the crevices after feeding on the chickens.

I would administer some Poultry Nutri Drench or other vitamins and electrolytes via drinking water and feed her for some consecutive days with a nice mixture of scrambled eggs, sesame seeds, millet, oatmeal and minced stinging nettel and dandelion leaves.
