Duck egg help! I'm so nervous.

Usually, when they pip at the wrong end they can make it out ok on their own. They sometimes need help but I'd give them at least 24 hours before considering helping. They need to absorb the yolk/blood vessels first and they like to take long rests too!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. We now have 11 out of 14 that have externally pipped and I heard my first peep from them today. This is so Exciting! I'm trying to be very patient with them. One has been moving like crazy all day.

Great news today. All 14 have pipped and hearing more and more peeping. I think this one might be out by morning. It's hard to see in the picture but it's starting cracking over half the egg.

My first duckling came out but it's I'm assuming yolk sac was still attached and now it looks like it broke it off cruising around in the incubator. Will it be ok?

I don't see it anymore to get a picture. He must have lost it under a egg or something. It doesn't look to be attached to him any more. There was no blood it just looked like a mucus green and grey sack that came out with him. And broke open and was all greenish.

Sounds like it wasn’t the yolk. If your duckling is acting normal, I wouldn’t worry:)
