Once it is really really dried out, it will be packed into plastic containers and stored in the basement-pantry. Should be good to eat for 10-12 months.

Do you use a dehydrator or just air dry?

that is a great idea that I never thought of! My girls are laying gangbusters and I'm going to do this! I bought a cheap pasta machine/maker hand crank thing years ago and am going to put it to use!

As long as it is hot outside, just air drying. I don't have a dehydrator, maybe in future i will use the baking oven on low.

YES you understand then! I'm a late night snacker, totally based on availability, and that huge pan of brownies didn't last long... I usually just don't buy junk and the problem solves itself. But my garden is going gangbusters and I have been baking a couple things weekly for months now to use up ingredients.

But for real, thank you so much for the pasta idea. I have tons of tomatoes and am going to process about 5lbs of romas and some peppers for a bolognese sauce, and now I can say I made the pasta, too

Next up! Eggplant parm. I have some beauties out there about ready to pick.

Lucky you! My veggie garden was kind of a bust this year, it was so wet here in spring that the first batch of tomato plants drowned. But i learn, there is now a shallow drainage ditch protecting the tomatoes and peppers in front of the patio and the ducks love when there is actually water flowing through it. Now i need to find a way to keep those pesky ducks away from the tomatoes…
