hi all! once again im writing in to seek health advice for my Reptar, a 1 year old female runner duck.

just recently within the past couple of weeks i have noticed a bit of a change in her body composition with her keel bone feeling more pronounced and her neck looking more thin as compared to how she had looked earlier in the season[i will update the thread tomorrow with an exact weight]. behavior-wise she is the same except maybe being slightly more ravenous for food, but otherwise happy and normal. i plan on searching around tomorrow to find a vet who will perform a fecal float but im unsure of how ill make out since its troublesome finding poultry/waterfowl vets around here. would it be appropriate to proactively treat her with a dewormer? if so, which wormer should be used and at what dosage? are there any other steps i can take to help her maintain weight til i can get this sorted out?

if there is any information i left out that would be pertinent to evaluating her health, please let me know and ill update asap. thank you all so much for your help!

I would treat with safeguard dewormer , it won’t hurt.

thank you for all the info! i purchased equine safeguard 10% and poultry cell at my local TSC and will begin treatment this evening. i checked her weight this morning before she ate and she was about 2.5lb; i will provide a photo below of her current body condition. she is still in good spirits and behaving normally, hopefully we can get her gaining weight asap. would it be beneficial to enrich her diet with corn or other caloric foods or should she just stick to her regular diet? thank you again for the help!:jumpy

p.s: i see some sources saying the dose should be given as 2 doses spaced 10 days apart and some others saying 1 dose a day for 5 days; are both methods effective?
