Hi - I'm looking for recommendations of a good duck vet in the area - my poor runner was just recovering from a wing injury when my other duck got excited to get out of the coop and flew up and landed right on my poor duck's back and now she won't move. She's eating and drinking fine, just won't get up. Am hoping she just has a bruised back and is resting it, but in case she isn't, could anyone recommend one? I have her sequestered in a see-thru coop with food and water so she can see the other two ducks but they can't bother her or try to move her. I am giving her vitamins in her water.

Thank you!

Jenny

Call some of your local aviary vets or exotic vets and ask if they will see ducks. I had a ved i took reptiles to and i knew she was a avairy. I called asked asked about my hurt duck and she got me in that day. Good luck!

Hi Jenny,
This vet in Lake Oswego was recommended on Metzer's vet list, and is American Board of Veterinary Practitioners certified.

Dr. Marli Lintner Avian Medical Center Lake Oswego OR 503-635-5672

It's the only one they have listed in the area, the next closest is in Salem.

I will call them today and see - she's still perky and eating/drinking, just doesn't want to move around.

Hopefully since she is still perky and eating and drinking good it's just a sprain, and rest will heal it up. Good to know you have vets not to far that may be able to help.

Thank you! I called the Avian Medical Center in Lake Oswego and they were extremely helpful and friendly, and we decided to give it a couple of days and see if she improves before throwing her in a car and stressing her out.
