I visited one of the local lakes today and fed the ducks a mix of Purina feed, Mazuri feed, and mealworms. A lot got picked up by grackles & pigeons, and unfortunately some ducks didn’t even recognize it as food (so used to eating bread).. but those who did eat it were clearly very grateful ❤️

There were some Domestic Mallards, Wild Mallards, Muscovy Ducks, Mule Ducks, and Egyptian Geese! I also saw an African Goose couple last time I visited, but couldn’t find them today.

Beautiful birds. Are Muscovy protected in your part of Texas?
I don’t believe so, no, but everyone visiting is in love with them. I saw many, many Muscovy ducklings / mule ducklings.
Hopefully, the African couple got rescued or she is sitting on a nest somewhere with hubby close by.
I hope so too! It’s a big lake, they could’ve easily been somewhere else. I am extremely tempted to return and rescue them myself if someone else hasn’t.
