I will have chicks and eggs as well, and I'm less than 2 hours from you

I think we talked awhile ago about the lavenders. Finally after a couple of tries at hatching eggs I have a flock of them that should start laying soon

I LOVE my EE's! Just the variety in their coloring amazes me- they're all so pretty!!

I've only got pics of a few of them:

and my very spoiled little girl, Salty

I'll have to get pics of my others: Doris (buff & blue), Brittany Louise (buff with black points), Bowling Ball (all black w/green & purple iridescence) and Matilda (EE/Marans cross- all black with a splash of red and gold across her neck and the side of her face)

Oh the lavenders are soooo pretty! Kim we should both get some lavenders from Candace! How cool would that be? Ok I better get that coop back up cause I can tell I'm going to need another one shortly! But I knew that when we moved out here to the country.

Candace how are the temperments of those Lavenders? I mean they don't have to be total snugglers like most EEs are but I did have some Ameraucanas that were kinda flighty and weren't a lot of fun to deal with.

Ok, EEs from Kim and Lavenders from Candace plus more BCMs from Wynette. I'm gonna have my hands full this spring but it's gonna be so much fun!

Yesterday the back door was open while I was going in & out of the house. I went in for a snack, not thinking anything of it, and when I turned around (with a handful of grapes) the three of them were standing behind me- IN THE KITCHEN!!!! I told them they didnt want to be that close to the oven and then shoo'ed them out, LOL!

The brown/black/yellow speckled-ish color seems to be pretty common in EE's (like Salty, Sprinkles, and Tiger). Out of curiosity, does anyone have a boy that color? I've only ever seen females that pattern.

The genetics of EE's would be a cool thing to study! There are SO many colors, patterns and variations!
