Had a friend give me an Easter egger a couple weeks back. It’s probably about 12 weeks. Seeing as how I’m new to backyard chicken keeping, I figured I’d come to the experts and see what you guys thought. Pullet or cockerel?

Thank you guys ❤️

Hello Brittchix, I see you have a questionable pullet or Cockrell here, but may you take another photo with you holding up his sickle feather (tail feathers) by chance to get a better look?
For this if the sickle feathers are pointed it's most likely a coxkeral and if rounded a pullet.
I hope this helps!

12 weeks is a little young for sickle feathers to develop. Especially for Easter Egger. EEs are much harder to sex using traditional methods. Often times you'll see reddish color feathers appear on their shoulders but that's not foolproof either.

I'm going to guess this one is a cockerel based on the amount of red showing on the comb for such a young age.
