This is the 2nd time we have had this hens egg laid with a crack that looks like it was sealed over before she laid it. Just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about or if I should supplement her with anything? They have free feed oyster shell available all the time. Any insight would be appreciated. This gal is coming up on 2 years old.

It can happen.
Is the shell good and thick?
I'd be curious to see what the shell looks like where it is cracked/repaired once egg is opened.

If a bird is severely startled or flighty during the ~20 hour shelling process,
the shell can fracture then continues to be shelled 'repairing' the crack.
