Egg whites like jelly when cooked

Hiya
I have recently got 2 new rescue chickens 1 of which was laying soft shelled eggs but has since hardened up
Any way this morning when boiling eggs I noticed when one was cracked open it the white was like jelly even though the yolk was cooked solid and the other egg was also cooked correctly I have attached a few pictures so you can see any advice?? I am now worried about some form of disease lol

I doubt it's a disease that would affect humans.....but that sure must be annoying.
How long have you had the birds and are all their eggs like this?
Also what all and how exactly are you feeding them?

Hiya thanks for the reply I’m in the uk have been a member for a while but lost details so had to create a new account! The bird in question I have had a few months now and I have not really noticed any of the other eggs being like this as we have not boiled them and also have not been eating her ones as she had been laying the egg almost out of the shell then soft shelled and have progressed to pretty normal looking eggs but now this?? I’m going to go home and boil her next one and see if it’s the same they are all on the same layers pellets with corn etc as snacks all the other birds eggs seem fine,

What protein percentage is the layer feed?
Might want to cut out the corn and other treats.

When you say 'rescue', is bird from a commercial layer facility?
 
Hiya yes they were ‘free range’ laying hens I’m not sure on the percentage as the food is in a container and not the bag will have to check next time

For what it's worth, this is the same thing that always happened when I tried to hard-boil ring-necked pheasant eggs. The whites also remained off-puttingly jelly-like if I tried to fry or pan-scramble pheasant eggs too...so, the dogs got 'em. I'm not saying your oddball chicken is a pheasant, but there's obviously something in her make-up that's currently causing her lay eggs that somewhat resemble pheasant eggs when it comes to the consistency of the whites and I'm wondering if it mightn't be something inherent? If so, there'd be no 'fixing' it. Hope you keep us posted as to what you do try to remedy your 'jelly' eggs. I'd find it interesting should it turn out to be related to nutrition or environmental factors.

Ooo that is strange?!? I’m going to keep a good eye on it and boil them up for a few days just to have a look will keep you updated
 
Hi, I am in Melbourne Australia and recently have been having this problem with my chicken eggs (ISA browns). Has it been resolved? Diet? Climate? Both were mentioned as possibles but not really conclusively.
