Elderberry bush leaves

My ducks started eating my neighbours elderberry bush while we were busy working on their enclosure. Is there anything I can do? Plant is now removed xxx

How are they doing? Are they drinking? Active?

We have elderberry bushes that pop up all around and we wrap garden fencing around them to keep the birds out of them, which may be one way to go with plants like this.

They seem to be behaving as they usually do. They have drank. They all sit down and have a group snooze at this time. I panicked when I saw and can't only remember one. Hubby said 2 but we don't know for certain xxx

Why are you concerned? My ducks seem to know which leaves are edible and which aren't. My elderberry is in the front garden and so I don't know if they would eat the leaves as they are in the back yard

Yes, but the ducks have to taste them to know that. I would trust my ducks not to eat more having tasted them.

Clearly, the elderberry in your question will not normally be accessible by your ducks. So as they are running round and eating and drinking normally, they will be OK. If they had eaten enough leaves to get poisoned, they would be ill quickly not later
