Emu Egg Hatch-along

The back is I guess but I only ever use the soft white side. I get the big and small ones and then spot clean as needed. These ones are softer than puppy pads and probably gripper? I've never had any issues with my ducklings or goslings on them. The washable puppy pads are nice too, I'm just too lazy to wash them all the time 😅
I like to just toss them when I'm done.
I think from what I've read the idea is the slick back can slip when emu are running around with their crazy legs. I've also read they can slip on shavings so who knows. I just know I don't want to deal with emu leg problems because it can be a death sentence.

Alright, haha! I'll try. Just so hard not knowing 🤣
Keep me posted on yours too. The way mine rolls is super weird when I tap it and stuff. It like wobbles really oddly and for a long time. But then it stops and nothing.
I totally get that! I still have one that leans and one that is completely flat. They both kind of roll into place and stay there . I'm pretty confident nothing's happening but the last thing I want to do is accidentally open up a developing egg and kill an embryo or i guess a pretty much fully developed chick at this point.

On another note I might have some more eggs coming. One of the sellers I bought from was disappointed that neither egg hatched and offered to replace them at no charge. She said her birds have slowed laying at the moment due to weather , but will let me know as soon as she has a few for me. As far as I know she's being honest so that's pretty cool!

@MGG @Strawberry74 Update dat 34 , little wiggle , I think
Tomorrow weigh moment at day 35.

When do I stop turning ? Day 40 ? Day 47-48. Everyone says something different 😮😂

fingers crossed for this baby :)
That's exciting! I hope you start seeing more!

With the chick being pretty much fully developed at day 40 you can stop then or turn a few more days. I am not sure it makes a big difference. I think I turned up until a few days before hatch last year and this year I stopped at day 40.

Question,

When you put the egg on the scale and whistle the numbers will go up and down like the chick is moving inside just not moving the egg. Is that an indication for movement inside ??
