I have one in my front yard. Someone told me they are poisonous. The chickens can't reach the leaves on the tree, but occasionally some will fall to the ground. Is this a problem?

No. They're not interested.

AND eucalyptus, to my knowledge, is not poisonous. Some varieties resemble oleander leaves. Could they have been confused?

Some are poisonous, if you eat enough, but the chickens won't touch them - they taste dreadful.

I'd be more worried about them dropping branches - gums are notorious for dropping branches when unhappy due to drought (for example).

I have several Eucalyptus trees in my yard. My birds like to scratch around them. I have never had and health issues. They are messy trees as the loose some of their leaves year round and when the bark comes off...

Would the leaves or branches cause irritation to thier skin? My girls are developing a skin irritation.
