I have grown chives inside the egg shells. It was cute, but I am not sure where the pictures are.

drill lots of tiny holes and maybe a long needle!

I did tomato seeds in shells two years ago. The homegrown eggs have shells that are too thick to transplant directly into the ground but all you have to do is crack the egg open and transplant them. If you have different color eggs you can start different types of seeds in each color.
