About three weeks ago, our hen Chicken Patty started acting down, standing like a penguin, swolllen abdomen, no eggs, no food or water. I thought she was eggbound and soaked her in warm Epsom baths for a few days, but nothing. I tried worming the whole flock with safeguard. I also did corid for 6 days thinking a cocci issue. No improvement. I then figured it could be ascites, but her comb was bright red. Attempted to drain her and got over a cup of yellow fluid. She continued draining overnight and the next day I could feel her bones! She was light as air and very boney! She started eating, drinking, still a little down so I gave nutridrench and scrambled eggs, extra food and treats. And she seemed okay for a couple days, now we are 8 days out from draining and her comb is turning blue and she won't eat, won't drink and won't stand. I doubt she will make the night. But now I'm worried I did something wrong. I read with ascites it is terminal, but draining helps them breathe and get more oxygen and prolongs their life by months, but she looks like she is cynotic and it has only been little over a week! Any insight would be appreciated so I dont make a mistake in the future.
Edit to add: she's a little over 3yo and normally laid every day
