The people at this site WWW.pigeons.biz/forums/
know about pigeons like everyone here at BYC knows about chickens.

HUGE amount of information and lot's of people to ask all your questions.

I keep watch on both because I have homing pigeons AND silkies.

Have fun with your new birds!!!
Don't let them out, they will fly away, they ate NOT homing pigeons.

I used to raise fantail pigeons and they just need basic food, water and housing and they will multiply like rabbits.

Food: Most feed stores sell a pigeon blend of grains for basic diet.
Also feed gamebird breeder during breeding and raising for
a supplement. Use pigeon grit (buy at feed store).

Water: Waterer must be deep enough for them to stick their bill
into as they suck the water up and dont dip like chickens.

Good Luck

There are two main types of fantails. American, which is clean headed/legged and holds their head wayyy back on their back, against the tail, most of the time. Then there are Indian fantails, with a peak crest, grouse leggs, and not so much of an extreme posture.

It's funny to see the amreican fantails. The hold their head so far back you can't see it from the front. It's like a headless bird walking around.

Beautiful Fantails i raise white american fantails.

I feed mine a bird seed mix it has sunflower, white milo, millet, safflower and i add scratch grains to it.
But others feed different things it is all up to you what you like and can afford.
I use the red grit for their digestion and they have to have it when they have babies to produce pigeon milk.
I use standard chick waterer's or those kind that hang on the outside of the cage and use a pop bottle.

Yes if you have a pair they breed & reproduce easily in captivity and have many clutches year round if allowed

These birds are very friendly and are fun and pleasurable to own and raise "good luck"

The Fantails Ypu Have Are Indian Fantails Like Someone Said Good Food Clean Water A Safe Cage From Cats And Anything That Wants To Eat Or Play With Your New Birds And Protection From The North Wind Bath Water Once A Week Would Be A Nice Thing A Dry Loft Is Another Must
