feeding june bugs

can chickens eat june bugs?
They are here in ohio already.

I suppose they can. They eat darn near everything else! I've seen one of mine eat one and she's still kickin'...

Yep, while the flock is really fussy as to what bugs they prefer to eat, June bugs are one of my flocks favorites.

They don't eat some critters that you would think they like.... but June bugs are worth a vocal appreciation.

I have a large freeranging flock..every morning when I let them out they split up into groups and head for 1. The front porch. 2. The back porch. 3. The barn. 4. The end of the driveway... what do all these places have in common you might ask??? A light that stays on all night and a bonanza of flipped over June bugs! They come out of the coop at a run, everybody off to see who will get the most tasty treats! When the season is over they don't even go to look... one or two days without bugs and they are off to dig worms at the creek again. Smart Chickens!
