My ducks and geese live peas and I thought I’d save money buying dried peas from the feed store.
Only, they are not peas. They are field peas, which are apparent a kind of bean.
I’ve tried sprouting them to see if that gets rid of the horrible taste but it doesn’t.
I know uncooked beans are not edible for humans due to naturally present toxins that cooking gets rid of.
Does anyone know if it’s safe to feed ducks and geese uncooked field peas?

After you've read that page (they are peas, btw; you were misinformed by whoever said they are beans), click on the nutritional aspects tab and scan down to poultry for specific info there, and then the nutritional tables tab to get the breakdown of typical protein, carbs, vitamins etc. in them.

I give my girls petit pois (aka garden peas) when they are moulting because of the protein, they love them.

However some varieties of field peas (most are classified as beans ie black-eyed beans which are nothing to do with the gorgeous Will I Am) can have up to twice the amount of protein so may unbalance their protein intake.
I would make sure they are either green (depending on the variety) and fresh or well cooked and check out the variety being grown for their protein contents.
I think the last bit is probably important.
