Florida roach control anyone ? Or any other place on the planet i guess

I am a transplant to Florida also, the jurassic bugs are just the worst. The banana spiders are out everywhere now, try running through one of those webs on the mower or tractor and not crashing into something...........
I'll be interested to see if the tape thing works for the roaches, I've just kind of given up on getting rid of them, we are way outnumbered. I just squish the ones I see.

DE is useless for everything except maybe grain mites in food. Don’t waste your money.
For what it’s worth, I tried a very old bottle of boric acid we had lying around and it didn’t do anything either. I didn’t know if it was just old or what, but I’ll stick to sevin dust.

Supposedly, DE doesn't work once a bug's exoskeleton has harden. really only works when they mites are hatching from their eggs.

I'm going to try your suggestion and make a 1/2 sheet 1/4" plywood board and cover it with gorilla duct tape sticky side up

I wouldn't go overboard to start. Do a small test to make sure it works first.

If they aren't getting into your actual house, what's the problem? AFAIK roaches don't have any dangers to them aside from tracking germs from your trash into your food. They probably keep your coop pretty clean.

creeped out ick factor of bugs I'm guessing. I would think that my girls would kinda think of them as snacks as long as they're small enough to still fit into their mouths.

They only come out at night, when the birds lose all of their sight and braincells.

Yeah, but if they hide down in the litter and the girls can find one, bonus protein for them.

The roaches I have don’t just bury under litter, unfortunately; for the most part they crawl under boards or behind gaps well out of a chicken’s reach until dark.
They definitely do not find enough to make any dent in the population.
