That's something old time owners realize. Keeping hens past their prime is beneficial for showing new birds where the best places are for snoozing, foraging, hiding, etc. And they never outlive their usefulness for poop manure, soil cultivation, or barnyard predator alerts.Note I said SOME of her skunk. I don't think I could handle her in all her broody glory. I could certainly use at least 3 of her for educating the youngens, though.
