Hello peeps. My flu has really kicked me out of action this week.
Last night was my first night of full sleep and I feel better today.
The young girls are all starting to lay eggs. The Rockettes are in different stages of molt. The roosters are getting bigger every day. I’m glad to hear that Bob’s little rooster is taking a road trip, and I wish him well. Marie’s Princess is looking fine today. All the birds I’ve seen are looking good today.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I'm thinking my new gentleroo would perhaps bond better with the 3 cochinXamericana pullets I hatched? Ric Flair has claimed Nyx as one of his girls so I'd hate to seperate them right after he started acting like a rooster...
Yes. Don't separate a bonded hen and rooster. Pick someone else.

that isn't true; if it was I would have been dead. I have gotten bit probably 50+ times in the past couple of years (I was going out of my way to catch them, they were just defending themselves and calmed down once they realized I wasn't going to hurt them). There is very little chance it will even get infected as they have an anticoagulant in their saliva which results in very little bacteria actually getting left behind. they actually have relatively clean mouths to begin with as well.
The scientific facts are that 27% of all snake bites result in infections. These infections are so serious that 68% of those infections require surgical intervention. They can result in life threatening cellulitis because of the depth of the bite. It can be hard to get antibiotics to the area without opening up the wound.

I would say you have been fortunate.

:( :hugs

That's great to know, resting is healing with a ton of garlic.
I've had an abscess in my gum, it was seriously painful. I almost screamed with my efforts of healing it. I crushed garlic and wrapped it around the gum and tooth.
I forced myself too bear the excruciating agony that came with it. Then I used warm salt water after cleaning my teeth with xylitol and peppermint toothpaste. Finally I used my magic little jug to clear out my nostrils with salt water.

The next day I found 3/4 of the abscess was gone I've added garlic to my meals ever since and there's no sign of this infection now and my tooth is solid in my gum again

We have some lovely birds in our thread. I'm thrilled with princesses new feathers. They won't be white for long though because she's been bathing in earth for half of today
