Hey, everyone. Sorry I haven't responded in so long. I didn't have chicken pictures (ugh, tax), but I came on here to say Grandma's toenails are growing. Old Woman thinks it's because she sits down a lot but we'll eventually cut them. Oi, traumatizing.
It especially reminds me of this:

Not going to get any chicks from Peavey this year. UFA sells chicks too I believe. I'm going to get chicks from there if I need some. What about you?
Well thankfully I don’t need chicks this year.

Next year we will see, TSC in Niagara Falls sells chicks from Hoovers and I think mcmurrays I might check to see what regulations there are for being day-olds up here. I still would love to have a couple of dark Brahmas.

I wear nitrile gloves under my normal gloves when I'm doing wet stuff in winter. It keeps the moisture from getting to my skin.
Growing up we put plastic bags on our feet under our snowboots too. Same logic. There's a whole "bread bags under boots" meme about it haha.View attachment 4037895
Tax, blue partridge cochins. Too bad the ebay auction ends before payday, these are so beautiful.

They really are.

I agree with you.

We have to get to trying vaccination soon. Enclosing chickens without fresh air is not the answer, mass production and use of the vaccine is a possible one. Who cares if other countries won't eat the chickens then. Without some solution there may not be any for them to eat at all some day

Soon they will be recommending small enclosed boxes for them so they can't breathe or even see another chicken. It's disgusting how people see chickens as less than worthy of compassion.

And if one more person complains about the cost of eggs because chickens don't have to live in cages I'm going to put them in one. Eat something else then.

Eggsactly - I once asked one of my horse vets if I could get my chooks vaccinated, she told me only large poultry farms vaccinated and that back yard chickens were not permitted to use vaccines without some sort of licence.

Seems nuts to me. If my horses can get their shots why not Fluffy? Sheesh. I want my chooks to live long healthy lives and not worry about picking something up from wild birds.

They need to allow more backyard birds in my opinion , also.

Look up online if there is some sort of petition going on this. If not see if you could rally up other people that own chickens with the same idea. Just my thoughts on it
