Should We Go in and See?
The Phyllistines were checking out the main coop at roosting time today.
It’s like they were checking it out and then decided ‘nope, nope not going in there, nope I am outta here!’.

A good flock dog! A pullet strutted up to her today and pecked her. She grunted, got up, stared at the pullet, and moved to another spot. So cute! Also Pups just likes to hang with us wherever we are. But she does chase off the coyotes at night. She can be fierce when she needs to be.Is he a good flockdog or just staying in the shade out of the sun![]()
What a wonderful find! While family was here, discovered that theseView attachment 4169665are Nanking Cherries? They're the bushes between the rose patch and the lilacs with a couple of stand alones on the other side of the house.
View attachment 4169666and a partial from a colander full. If these meet the taste test, going to be enjoying in the future. Had enough hit the ground while picking for the chickens to enjoy also. I've never seen/noticed much of a crop before so thought they were a decorative viburnum.

Somewhere I have an official egg washing guide from The Pennsylvania State University. If I can find it, I will share.@BY Bob and @RoyalChick might be able to add/expand/correct on this concept/topic.
A wise choice at this point. I expect they will be in that coop in the next few weeks if only to just check it out during the day. It’s like they were checking it out and then decided ‘nope, nope not going in there, nope I am outta here!’.

Candled eggs, 3 polish, 1 silkie, and 1 orpington quitters. Some seemed clear but I will leave them til day 7 candling in case they just were a bit behind in starting.
I will also leave Navy's eggs until day 7 to candle. She's been an absolute sweetie with me checking her a couple times a day.
