Unfortunately it has been at least a week since any of my girls were broody. 🙄

Oh, I cant remember if I have posted the latest changes to our coop. Not that we don’t have any llamas left, we bought some plastic netting and enclosed the pen. So now they have a run that is about 24’x15’ that they get out in during the day. It isn’t predator proof, so they are o it allowed out when we are home and can check on them. It it should keep them in and hawks/owls out.

Of course it only took them a few days to completely decimate what little grass there was with this horrible heat/drought. Have tried to start watering it a little in the evening.
It looks hot 🥵

I am sad to hear about your financial issues - that stress is never fun. I hope it doesn't come down to you losing your property, and I do hope you have a place to go regardless of whether the property is bought or taken.:fl:fl:fl

I'm not sure I should ask - I hope this doesn't cause more grief...but do you have a place you can go if the property gets sold, and can you take your chickens with you? I know for me when I have really bad days, my chickens provide some serenity, joy, and entertainment. I am sure you are even closer to yours, given you have a nice, friendly small flock (not around 100 like me).

Alinta - no wonder you have such nice, dark feathers - eating those blackberries!!❤️❤️
The property is a lot (no building) i inherited from my mother, so not where we live. It is almost a quarter acre in a desirable area, but is a slope which buyers are wary of. We (my parents) were going to build a partially underground house so we bought it for exactly the same reasons others won't :p

I bet they had a blast eating it all at any rate. There are a bunch of chickens at a few places near worksite their Roos crow all morning and I can see them running about in their yards.

Right now I am next to a poultry shed - it’s huge and I really don’t want to know how many thousands of birds are in there. And across the road more sheds - I am totally freaked out to go home and see my chooks - I aim to completely disinfectant myself before going to the barn!!

Hello friends. I need to ask for your prayers/good thoughts/ positive energy what ever you do. Things are a bit dire here financially. I really need a solid buyer for my property in the next week. Without a buyer my choices are the county takes it or i take out a loan i can't afford.

At least Alinta has lots of berries to eat!

So sorry to hear of your problems, how stressful that is I am sure, hopefully someone comes along.

Do you know at what degree the slope is?

A good geotechnical report would be needed to. Hold there but as long as the soil supports building on there shouldn’t be an issue; one can also excavate and make a level pad and place sheet piling to hold back the slope as a wall or even make it stepped - expensive to do but feasible. Stepping it makes for more land use. Now the only issue is who is above your lot, and the ease with which utilities can be proving in; or if not on municipal sewer then a septic leaching field would need to be done, again an excavated level pad would be a good solution.

At any rate I sure hope it all works out for you. Thinking good thoughts here.
