Bless 🙏 your family for their service!

You put old tires to good use. Do you have to empty & refill those heavy things often? We do anything for our babies!
Thank you.

Tires: dry climate means have to fill more often than I'd like. Evaporation takes care of emptying them. I have them leaning against the garage where icicles form the most. Doesn't keep them full either, but the black color does help thaw it out sooner during the winter. Still, more water sources are always good.

I knew that cats can drive cars, but they can ride motorcycles too? View attachment 3938231

Maybe....

That's why cats are so useful. Death to rodents.
Éowyn treed a squirrel today. Since she got free run of the backyard again this week, 2 dead song birds and a mouse. The crowds of song birds that were eating the chicken food are gone now. I'm very pleased.

The wild birds would eat our feed so we got 3 treadle feeders so the feed would only be exposed for a hen to eat when she stood on the treadle. Our problem was that the Silkies were scared to death of the noise & unsteady movement of the treadle they wouldn't use them. We now have port feeders but the Dominique standard size hen won't use THAT! Oioi!!! these chickens!

Supposedly once a chicken has fowl pox they never get it again per my vet. Our 3 oldest hens have had it years ago but now we are watching for it in our 3 newest Silkies cuz this hot weather is mosquito season!
I had chicken Pox as a child, and it was miserable. But I can’t persuade my roo to come inside and get treatment. He just waits at that screen door and taunts me. He’s too fast to catch.
