w/us having so few hens we panic faster to treat sooner. When we have only 2 to 5 hens at a time & an illness hit one & we lost it the flock dynamic changed. It caused us to treat asap as a result. But that's us & not all other chicken owners.

I caught him (using canned corn ) his favorite. Then when he calmed down in the house, I rubbed the cream on his waddles and comb. I checked his mouth… no signs of Wet Pox I could see. I have antibiotics, but this isn’t something that I should use.

I have been studying the internet for any help with it that I can get.
Remember, I have never experienced anything like this in my birds before.
My birds are my BFF’s

I do love the way this roo calms down in the house. It’s almost as if he leaves his raging hormones on the doorstep. Now he just wants to snuggle with me. He loves to be petted.

I had chicken Pox as a child, and it was miserable. But I can’t persuade my roo to come inside and get treatment. He just waits at that screen door and taunts me. He’s too fast to catch.

It's a shame they can't get relief from the good old fashioned calamine lotion.
That really helped out itchy hot skin
