I think it is time I seriously start looking long and hard into a LGD. CeeCee does great when she is outside, but she is a house dog. She is not out all day long or all night. I do not want a Great Pyrenees. I have been around a few, I do not care for them even though they did their job well. I want a Anatolian Shepherd.
I've always wanted an Ovcharka or Leonberger or Landseer Newfie if we ever moved to our 6,000 ft elevation property (never able to move) ~ large dog breeds w/long coats are best suited for colder or water regions and we figured these might be good flock breeds w/training. It was a fleeting dream to have a flock dog.

The largest breed I had which had shorter coats better suited in our So Calif climate were Rottweilers but were gone before we had backyard hens. Like people, dogs have different temperaments and some were sweeties & some not. The best pets seem to leave us all too soon! Our cottage yard is too small to have chickens, & a dog, & forget a cat since there are enough loose cats in the neighborhood that we don't need to add another!

"Char" our Breda fowl was a great people person but she hated other birds. She was so unique w/a pointy tassel crest, no comb, crowlike nostrils, & white ears. Her feathered legs/toes & vulture hocks added to her uniqueness.

Good night all - I have had a tiring day, have had a migraine since yesterday, and my legs had me up last night, and my diverticulitis is acting up because I was a bar girl and ate stuff I shouldn’t (but it was so good!), so nighty night all - have a splendid evening!

I never liked bar food back when I was a drinker! :lau
