We love our neighborhood Crows. They chase off the Cooper's hawks (chicken hawks) yet the Crows never bother our hens & never come down to eat the chicken treats or feed. We LOVE our Crows & our girls are not afraid of them overhead.

However our hens are very wary of a suspicious helium balloon when it drifts by! 🎈
Red helium balloons, sometimes are followed by up by psycho killer dancing clown 🤡 be careful!

Why do people on the internet have cuter birds than mines!!
Everybody has such talkative birds.. so cute and calm..
But my hens are struggling to get enough courage to take a blueberry off of my hand still!! :barnie
A blueberry is real progress! Treats that they like is a winner! The older they get the mellower they become.

We handled our babies & juveniles every day & spend time during the day either giving them a treat or doing yardwork or what the hens really love is when we dig wet dirt in the garden & they help dig for worms & grubs.

I had an old Silkie that was not fond of being held or even having her picture taken she would run away. But if I was digging in the yard she'd be right there under the chair waiting for me to give her a cutworm or she'd stand on my trowel as I dug up earthworms while cultivating. Ever have a chicken sitting on your trowel or shovel while trying to work?

She was a real pest around fresh dirt!

Red junglefowl x leghorn! She's sooooo pretty
Beautiful! You also have a quarantine pen before mingling them into your flock? The old flock needs to get accustomed to the new additions.
