Today I have something like a favour to ask, to all you thread members. One of the rule asked by our host Bob on this thread is no politics. Being in the silent minority who disagree with the comments that are being made, I find it rather uncomfortable and would really appreciate if everyone made an effort on that behalf.

I agree with you on politics 100%.

I third not wanting politics on this thread!

I agree completely and have been wanting to say something - but I'm afraid each time I started typing, it didn't come across very nicely, so I didn't post it. Thank you, @ManueB for posting this - and doing it in a very polite/respectful way. Some of the political talk has made me uncomfortable, as well.

I went out and spent time with the chicks. They were able to free range for a bit with supervision. It was windy out so they did not stray too far from the coop today. I also went back and checked hatch dates. Julio the first one out hatched June 12. So they are 13 weeks now or 3 months old however you look at it. Not one attempt at crowing from ANY of them.

OMG, they are so dang cute!!!!

You know - another reason for keeping ALL of them:

If you let one rest/roost on each shoulder, and teach them to tuck their heads under your hair/back of the neck - presto! instant 'chicken stole'. And since their body temp is a bit higher than ours - what a wonderfully warm stole it will be

(Just be careful of poopy feet!)

BTW: That last pic - she looks like the old-time, stereo typical farmer photos, with a shaft of timothy hanging out of their mouth...only she doesn't have the seed-head on her shaft!

Of the 6 silkies I have 1 I am going to keep a very close eye on. It is the one I have been calling Reba. None of them are showing any signs of cockerel behaviors, but there is something about it. I really like this chick too. It is the non-bearded one of its color variety, but of them all it has the best feet feathering. I also got a good picture of it's fluffy butt. That really sparked suspicion. I have saw that fluffy butt before, it is a little Branch from behind.

Honestly, I can't really see your suspicions, but what do I know about Silkies ... Other than they are soooo adorable, and Aurora says 'they aren't chickens'

I’m here at Hannah’s apartment, and I have never felt so alone in my life. She’s a stone cold woman now. (I bet she asks me for more money ) but I’ll pay a nights sleep rent and get away early tomorrow. Some people just have no motivation to excel in their lives. I wouldn’t let this woman go anywhere near my chooks!

Went to Casa Bonita theme restaurant. So much fun.

Your restaurant sounds better than where we went.

Decades ago DD took me to expensive Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament Buena Park for my B-day ~ no plates, no silverware, eat w/ fingers & very sparse 4 courses:

2@ very skinny carrot/celery sticks 2-in long
Tiny cup of warm broth no spoon/buns/cracker
Anemic Cornish game hen tear/eat w/fingers
Tiny turnover as dessert

I laughed when my DD slapped the server's hand who was going to take away in great haste her sorry-looking game hen. "I paid for that!" she quipped & took back her tiny plate!

We were certain that much better, at least more food, was served in REAL medieval banquets!

The costumed jousting tournament show was fair to middlin' & not much better than the FREE Renaissance Faire joust at our local park.

It was a very expensive but funny experience that we laugh about w/ friends who had the same rip-off experience!
