I love white chickens but I love all chickens for the colors they are. I would just love to have another brilliant all white hen. I think they add something to the flock and provide a brilliant contrast that makes the others even prettier.
She isn’t completely pure white (she has black spots), but she is a leghorn in my eyes ♥️

And she lays blue eggs.

Bob would you like a nice Azur? I can get you a couple 😉

Twister - Azur Blue (hybrid LeghornxAracauna) she is such a ham!

I'm torn. I know Rosie will be thrilled with a bit of color on George. Mr P has a hint of color on him as well and he is handsome. I had it in my head after all this time that George was going to stay the bright white gorgeous boy he has been. If I am being 100% honest, I am a little sad he is not. Whatever color he ends up being it will not make me love him any more or less. I just liked my sparkly white boy the was he was.
He should stay mostly white, with just splash of colour on his neck. Some bling 😊

I don’t think he will go like Bert. I think he will be like Muffy and Butterscotch.

Gosh I can’t wait to see when he crows ♥️

She is gorgeous - despite being a pain in the @$& determined broody.
:love :love
The good news is that many (certainly far from all) 1st year broodies don't have the urge - or at least not as strong of an urge the following year. So, out of your many, many broodies this year, probably only about 1/2 of them will go broody next year!🤭

Unfortunately, where her urge is so strong, I suspect she will be an annual broody!🤪

I certainly understand the necessity of growing new, undamaged feathers....but what 'designer' created such an awful, unconfortable/unbearable way to molt!

The chicks seem to moult/grow in new feathers much more reasonably and don't seem to be in such discomfort...why can't adults do the same?

I swear that someone stole my hen and replaced her with a porcupine the other day...it hurt to just look 👀 at her!!!!

We had guests earlier, they got to meet the birds, I explained how the meatbird process works (that's mean Aunt Jenn! Why can’t all the boys stay?) And they got to give the birds some veggies from the freezer.

From @Pastel the Rooster :
Hi FBA! It’s Pastel the Rooster. I’ve missed you all so much. I wish I could still be on there to talk to you guys. Thank you Notabitail for posting this for me!
I hope everything is going well with your lives. There’s been some changes to my life.
First, Auggie the Welsh pony is doing very well. I’m going to start doing barrels with him. Dad actually is letting me! I think it will be fun, as Auggie knows the pattern and loves it.
Pippa the Shetland that I rode for 6 years passed away due to colic. She passed back in July. It sucked.

I am doing very well in school! I have a 100, a 99, an 89, and a 96! We are already 10 weeks in, so I think I am going to get all A’s this semester hopefully! Of course, I don’t have math until next semester 😒.

Pastel (not me, the actual rooster) passed away. He got too aggressive so I took him to my mom’s work. We put him in with pigs, but he jumped the fence to frolic with broiler roos and was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I brought home another rooster, but he was attacking Bolt, so he had to go. He’s at my best friend’s house now.
I brought home a lavender Orpington hen a few months back. She is very sweet. Her name is Amethyst!
Splotch, BBQ, and Bolt are officially 3! Bolt and BBQ turned three on the 8th of Oct, and Splotch turned three on the 14th of Sept.

Willow went broody again over the summer and got 7 more chicks. Silver Laced Wyandottes! One is a rooster, but the rest are hens. She did such a great job taking care of them. I got them because TSC was about to destroy them because they were two weeks old. Willow didn’t care and she took them in. They don’t have names yet.

Pegasus, Pastel’s son (with Bolt) is so big! He is still dark blue, but he has bronze hackle feathers, and a few bronze saddle/shoulder feathers. He is nice so far.

The Polish are doing well! They started laying eggs! Aphrodite (exchequer leghorn) is doing very well! She is more docile than I thought, though she is flighty. Her eggs are so cute!
Nyx passed away in June. Of course, it had to be the favorite polish. She broke her neck while flying to a perch I think.
Athens is such a sweet rooster. He is my second favorite chook (Bolt first!) Nemesis has an attitude sometimes. But I don’t let him get away with it. He doesn’t attack me very often anymore.

Guineas are doing well. Ridges (the favorite Guinea) passed away in June too. She got coccidiosis again. I took her and her special needs son, Ditzy, who also had it, to the vet. Ditz got better but Ridges passed away.
I have six guineas now.

I think I have 26 chooks now though!

Anyways, I miss you all so much! I hope everyone is doing amazing! Thank you all for the kindness you showed me while I was on BYC. ❤️
@Ponypoor and @RebeccaBoyd, if you have any good barrel saddle brands in mind, could you please share it with Notabitail! Thank you and I hope all the chooks and horses are doing well!

All replies to this message will be forwarded to Pastel.
