Mallorca files is set on the island of Mallorca (off the coast of Spain), it’s about a British detective who gets transplanted there who solves crimes.

Another you may enjoy is My Life is Murder (New Zealand/Australia TV), another detective show about a retired detective who freelances for the police.
🤔 I wonder if I could find "My Life is Murder" on youtube. That sounds good
Have you seen Death in Paradise? Also a BBC show set in the Caribbean. And Sister Boniface (spin off from Father Brown), oh and Miss Scarlet and the Duke (BBC).

And Murdock Mysteries (Canadian, 20 seasons I think, I have missed the last couple seasons) - it’s set in around 1903-ish Toronto - it’s really interesting to see how policing was back then - they do a good job of trying to be factual. And it’s fun to spot the old museums here in my home town they use for the stories sometimes 😊 and no shortage of old barns and homes from turn of the century 1900s around here to shoot scenes. I love when they do scenes in the old hospitals - some I have worked in and know the creaky old back staircases 😉

Over the past few years I have been watching these on and off.

Today I spent a lot of a time watching shows (watched a couple episodes of Mallorca files and a couple re-runs of Death in Paradise), my shoulder and neck are just aching. I am beginning to think it’s just my neck arthritis which has been acting up past week or so, maybe a pinched nerve in my neck causing my shoulder pain.

@Sylvester017 you are correct - don’t get old! Hahaha! And stay off crazy horses.

I still haven’t made it to the barn, but I just checked Hen House B and looks like only 4 chooks on that big ledge space! Boy are they going to be mad when I start moving youngsters in and taking over their space 🤭

Happy Mugshot Monday everyone

Here is the sassy look that Tassels gave me while I was giving her a lecture about how it was time she stopped being broody.
IMG_7863.jpeg

But guess what? She was actually paying attention to my lecture. For the first time in a very long time she went to roost with the others last night.
:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate

Now we have to see if she tries again in ten days time as usual, or if she recognizes that it is winter.

I think winter makes no difference for a determined hen. Especially if she feels she has a safe and sheltered place to nest.
Did you not think of getting chicks or eggs for her ? or maybe postpone to spring ?
Sadly, it says this video is unavailable in my country 😢
I'm sorry Marie, I don't know how to bypass that. It's also on Instagram but I am not sure if it would be available to you still.

Mugs for Monday, 3/5 of the free rangers.
Théo is convinced he's a lion like @SimpleJenn's tiny barky beast. I'm at my wit's end trying to stop him from attacking Gaston.

Mélisse saucisse 's new trick is to jump on the table whenever we are not looking to steal whatever is in our plate, and she is very fast.

Piou-piou is not happy to share her rooster with three other hens even though they now snub each other completely.

Mugshot Monday
Good morning everyone. I've been absent a lot mainly because I was busy with other things and I just didn't have the pictures. I'm running out of storage and I'm not willing to pay for storage, but I will find a way out of my problems. For now here's a mughsot from the chickens and for missing Caturday, here's a cat photo.

If anyone wants more pictures of this cat, give me a holler.

Good morning everyone, bit chilly here today, +2C (35F) and calling for a high of 9C (48F) - snow overnight tonight.

Hope to start getting the Hen Houses ready for winter, right now it’s still mild enough that I don’t want to enclose everything, but I do need to find the coverings for the windows to keep drafts out and have them ready to put up next month. I want to drag that nice will branch up from the paddock for roost for those two OEGB bantams. And I want to plan who goes where, the three Roos still need to be dealt with, and Mr P will need to be kept away rom the younger hens until he is fully feathered out.

And what am I doing? Watch Chicken People 🤔

I have no desire to show my chickens - had enough fun with that when I had my rabbits as a youngster and then my horses. My desire is to sit on my lawn chair with a cuppa tea and watch them peck around in the dirt!

Here are my champions!

Theo’s mane is magnificent!

Getting chicks for Tassels is complicated because of Marek’s in the flock. Eli’s diagnosis was confirmed by necropsy.

I could give her eggs or chicks and just accept that most will die.

Or, I could try some complicated timing logistics and pop 10 day old vaccinated chicks under her and hope she thinks they are newly hatched.
If she is like this in the spring I may try the 10 day old vaccinated approach.

Hahaha Mélisse must be getting pointers from Fluffy on stealing food. Who knew a silkie could move so fast!

I hear you on the Roos squabbling, Mr P and Bert are driving me bonkers. They fight through the fence, and the doors in the barn. If they get loose together they fight like gladiators.

It’s a constant battle to ensure they are kept separate. I have to double check everything.

And now I have the additional worry of Shorty, he is really ramping up the hormones and he is a huge boy. I have moved Betty and Sue in with Mr P to protect them from his attentions. He is just way too big to jump on those smaller hens. He’s a gorgeous boy but he needs to go.
