Don't worry Moses, I'll unjail them soon 🤣

Lately I've been keeping them in the run until 10am when there's a little less hawk activity. So they have to pace back and forth in there for a couple hours in the morning after I let them out of the coop, but at least they're safe!
Okay Pharaoh, but you have until Hanukkah 🕎 to release them, or I have ten plagues in my pocket. Hurry up, these frogs are freaking me out!

Laverne still has a swollen right side of her face. Otherwise she seems ok.

A bug bite, an injury? Puzzling. I'll have to reference my Storey's book on chickens!
Nothing in my Storey's Guide, 3rd Edition (2010), about treatment of skin abscesses. Lots of info on horrific diseases, worms, parasites, respiratory viruses or bone injuries but nothing on tumors or skin abscess. The book mostly covers general care & management of chickens rather than treatments of day-to-day minor health concerns. Storey's is a good read but BYC & my vet have been more helpful for the issues I've encountered.

And she is eating and acting normal as far as I can tell.

Just checking out the cameras in there
She was grooming Betty

Flopsy is moving better, her limp is much improved. But her hip still makes noises 😳

Just so you all know, Mr Wyandottey is happily sound asleep, laying down right next to me. I crawl under the blankets. The one on top is for any chooks incase of accidents. I hope that I don’t snore too loudly and awaken him in the middle of the night.
(There’s always the coop if needed)
Our hens go into such a sound torpor that noises like fireworks, sirens, honking horns, military or news copters, squabbling yowling cats, barking dogs, loud neighbor parties, doesn't disturb them. But peek into the coop & they will open an eye to look at us!

Well, you’re smart! Free Mana every morning is cheaper than chickens feed!

No bees. Maybe spider bite? Lots of this here.

Good if it's not a bee stinger cuz then it would need to be removed before treating for swelling. But a good guess would be an insect bite or lastly a small puncture poke from a thorn or splinter? Her eye looks ok which rules out anything respiratory. Respiratory makes a chicken lethargic so it can't be that.

I'm more concerned about what Flopsy is going thru. It's lingering far too long?
