Whew, I was more behind then normal. My work started the big move to our new location this week with the usual craziness moving creates. Blown fuses and other power issues, no furniture for the break room, still painting sections of the building etc. Everything should be in place by the end of the weekend, then will just have to get set up and shuffled around a few times. My department (sewing) was moved in first.

I spent all day yesterday researching cooking pots trying to find just the right one, without settling on anything. 😜 I just want the perfect pot without spending 300.00 is that too much to ask?

Eggs?
Remind me, where do eggs come from?
It has been so long I have forgotten what they look like!
I really really really wish I could get eggs to you too. I am over run with them

I had to go on a rescue mission earlier. I went out to gather the first round of eggs now that my girls are laying and I spotted this.

At first this did not bother me at all, my chickens are all the time in the creek. I also have Rosie and dad home both sick. It would not surprise me if it is not the flu so I am a bit distracted right now. I come out to toss some scraps to the chickens about 45 minutes later and once again I am greeted with this...

That is when it dawns on me. That is one of my bowling ball cochins over there who cannot get more then a few inches off the ground when they try to fly. I also cannot figure out what she is doing on that side of the creek, it is actually up a little bit as we have had heavy rain off and on the last 2 days. Whoever invented crocs is a genius as I had to wade the creek to rescue her. That is Grouchy Gryffyn who does not appreciate me touching her and will bite me repeatedly when I try. Today she knew she was in trouble and did not move a inch when I reached down to pick her up. She did not even try to bite me as I carried her over to the other side. I have no clue how long she had been over in that spot the dummy. I also do not know what possessed her to get to the other side of the creek to begin with.
Once safely back on dry ground she immediately ran to one of the nest spots. I think I will have one of her first eggs of the season when I go back out in a bit.

Wow your creek is running a bit fast. It’s been so long since I have seen running water. Other than coming out the hose 😉

Water here is white and causes serious issues on the roadways.

It's a Big Day at FBA!

Look who's turning 6!

Don't worry. Hattie was not left out. It was too cold and windy for her to come outside so she ate in the run.

Happy Hatch Day your majesty, your are still looking like a princess ♥️

(By that I mean a pullet)

According to local (to me) experts AI likes cold/damp and is most prevalent this time of year. They say it will be less of an issue come summer.
My question is where is the AI coming from since waterfowl don't migrate in snow weather when they fly south for the winter? Some local indigenous wild birds like cardinals or jays must be transmitting it around in snow country?
