It was a great game - the guys on both teams did themselves proud, all played really well.

I thought for sure in the beginning that Finland would win, glad I didn’t put money on it with the guys at work!

I am now ready for something other than hockey - which admittedly will go on into June… I am more than ready for golf! Green grass and water hazards. Right now the golf courses are snow drifts and frozen ponds!

I’ll have to take a similar photo tomorrow with the huge snow drift at the barn door this year 😆
And I thought the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl :idunno

Yes, thanks, today she was perky again, and very active and talkative. I didn't see her sitting while others stood any time I checked except for early this morning, which must have been just before she laid her egg. By midday she was leading a vigorous dustbathing party.
I am sure it was scary for you at the beginning, but so glad that she managed to lay and is all happy now.

Gosh they are cute - are these your eggs hatched? I am soooo far behind, I haven’t been able to check in at all much.

♥️
These are an impulse buy from a local breeder. My neighbor wanted me to hatch eggs, I was talking to this breeder and she loaded her car up for us, then neighbor changed her mind. I figured that wasn't fair to the breeder so got 5 little blue-egg silkies (with legbar gramma!)

Really, all four big girls are being very helpful to the chicks. Yeti is just going above and beyond in helping care for them. I opened the brooder to see what the loud one was complaining about and sweet Yeti dove under the heat plate to put herself between me and the itty bitties.

Oh, that's just so sweet! I've read stories of slightly older chicks bullying the heck out of itty bitties. Yeti is such a sweetheart!! 😍🥰

From what I've read, you can keep chicks with up to a two week age difference and be okay. I'm watching them closely though just in case!
I also ordered a popup brooder that is the same length, but deeper and taller than the lizard cage. Should be here before my eggs hatch.
I really want the snow to melt and ground to thaw, even if just for a day or two. That way I can dig up the lilies next to the porch, and start the new coop.
I don't think the chicks will be able to go outside for a while yet.

Their cuddle puddle got interrupted by the yelling chick.

This one is always yelling. Reminds me of Ash, she was always hollering as a chick too.

This one is adorable and grumpy
