Okay, I'm planning on getting the boy for now. Tomorrow early afternoon. Plan is to hold him for breeder buddy until we can arrange meeting up in the middle of the state (hmm, does this sound familiar to anyone?)
I have a feeling he has already found his forever home. :love

Will Mr. Rooster be okay by himself in the white coop? Or should I set my other brooder plate up suspended above the roost so he can stay warm when it gets below freezing?
Good question. We have a rooster living on his own and no extra heat is needed, but we are in Washington, so the weather may be quite a bit milder than where you are.

To: Mr. P! Heavens to Betsy stop making your chicken tender worry so much. First your feathers now this 😡 … also, get better fast or one of us may have to notify THE QUEEN!

To: Ponypoor, sorry to hear of the injury:( Silly Roo’s!
Best not to interrupt the Queen.
Her royal duties are probably keeping her quite busy.
I’m probably wrong. Maybe Her Worship will have some idea about what to do. :idunno Hail to The Queen Aurora. Her royal majesty.:bow:bow:bow:bow

I will ask tomorrow. The little coop has a big ventilation area above the nest box, but I was checking yesterday inside and didn't feel any drafts above the roost bar. Plus the nest box is very cozy if he prefers to sleep there.
I will have to go out and play with him so he doesn't get too lonely. Internet says the chicks need to be at least 10 weeks old before they can be introduced to him, does that sound accurate?
You understand, roos need love too!

This is the weather I've been hoping for.

And the rest of this week is looking good too.

I am going to miss seeing this little babies all day, but it's moving day. They have a much better place to grow and live in the coop.

I thought formal introductions would be in order, since it will be very difficult to get any pictures for a while until they are wanting to come out from under the sweeter heater.

My new loves!!! :love (although i love all my chickens!!!)

This is Mary. She is an active little girl that is curious about everything except people. She just wants to hang out with her own tribe at this point.

This is Bossy. She is the one to stand in front when we approach the bin. She has charged my hand, pecked at me, and talks up a storm all the time. I'm pretty sure I will have a special relationship with her. 😁 Also, she absolutely will not stand still for a portrait.

This is Sweet Sue, which will probably get morphed into Susie Q. She is a bit shy, but extremely sweet. Being the easiest to handle, I think she will be a friendly one. She is definitely not going to be the leader of the pack, but she loves cuddling and hiding behind the other two chicks.
