Up for sale a pair of Brown Chinese Geese. They were bought over the weekend with another pair of Toulouse Geese. I only want to keep the Toulouse Geese so I'm selling this pair.
I was told that the gander is 5 years old and the goose is 2 years old.
I have not seen this pair breeding as I've only had them since Saturday 03/30 but this morning I put a tub in the pen for them to splash in and the Toulouse was trying to breed with her. The Chinese gander was squawking away so I'd say I'm sure if they were separated there would be no issue as it appears the Toulouse is top gander.
As far as temperament goes I was able to herd them into a dog crate and herd them into their yard. I have not been able to put my hands on these geese but I was told by the previous owner that they are friendly. As I've only had them for a few days they do not trust me yet.
I believe one pair is already laying eggs but I do not know which pair it is as I collected an egg on Sunday but was told that both were laying, given the stress of the move I'm sure they will be off on their egg production. And as certain geese only lay an egg every other day and so forth it may be a little while before you see some eggs.
You will need a dog crate or other such container to get them herded into. Nice looking pair!
DEMOTTE, IN- Local pickup only cannot ship these birds
Photo includes the egg I collected over the weekend for size comparison to a duck and a chicken egg.
