I want to put my chicken tractor on my old flower bed. It is full of spent forget-me-not flowers. Does anyone know if I shouldn't do this? I wouldn't want my hens to get sick on too many seeds. I could pull them up and then let the hens in I guess but then what's the point? LOL!

I love forget me nots! I have no idea if they are bad or not but they aren't on the bad treats list. I would love to have them grow like that here, not the right soil or something.

AFAIK forget-me-nots are generally regarded as nontoxic; I'd probably do it myself, although of course no guarantees. If you're worried, you could go over the area with a lawnmower a few days before you put the chickens on, to reduce the amount of forget-me-not biomass they could eat.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Thank you for all of the replies. Forget-me-nots are so easy to pull out that maybe I will thin the patch out. They reseed so profusely that I am assuming the hens will eat a lot of seeds. I'll also check that link to see if they are safe.
