Friends for Jadwiga Hatch a Long!

If the incubating temp was a little high that can happen
Are you sure you counted the days correctly
Also are they bantams? My bantams hatch on day 20
I wouldn’t be too worried
I think it could have been the temp. I caught it as high as 101F/38.5C a couple times and had to adjust it.

Pretty sure I counted the days right though! I set them Sunday, April 27 at 2000, today is Friday, May 16 1600, so almost Day 19.

I don’t think they are bantams, are Polish bantams a thing? I got the eggs from a local woman so I can’t vouch for her flock.

I’m glad to hear I shouldn’t worry, though!!

Sounds like the temp then
Polish bantams do exist
Sounds like you’ll have some fluffy chicks soon

Stick hatched!! 🐣 She seems healthy and well formed; she is scrambling around the incubator and cheeping, with rests in between. It was so cool to see her hatch from her egg. She zipped in about 30 minutes and did great!!

Squash hatched this morning, much to the delight of my three children! They are all under four and don’t have impressive attention spans, but they were fascinated watching Squash enter the world.

There are more pips in the remaining eggs! We are excited for the remaining chicks to join us!

Pinecone has joined the chat! Haha. He hatched about 15 minutes ago and is very vigorous and vibrant.

There will probably be a bit of a break now between Pinecone and the last 2 eggs. They have only recently pipped.
