I just feel bad for any beginners who actually believe him..

I don't know whether to laugh, be filled with disgust, or both.)( The person running this ad is not a salesman, he (or she) is a con artist. Sadly there are beginners who know so little about egg development that they will believe this sales pitch.

Well, if you got all 20 pullet chicks, I expect you'd easily average over 2 eggs a day. He didn't really say "per hen", and we all know you need more than 1 hen for socialization.

LOL! Of course if the potential buyers interpret his ad as meaning 2 eggs total per day from 20 pullets, then no one is going to buy them.)

Haha... I emailed him and he said yes that each bird would lay 2 if not 3 eggs a day!!! :lau

I just re-read the ad with a more jaded eye...if he's including the 3-4 males in with the "bunch of egg laying chicks" someone is going to be very disappointed! I know, I know. Get back in the corner, Blooie.

Every once in a while we get someone on here that swears their chickens lay more than 1 egg a day. I think it was earlier this year when someone was so excited because they suddenly found about 7 eggs in the box and she swore 1 chicken laid them all that very day. No one could convince her otherwise.

Maybe the Craigslist guy sold them to her!

Could be. But I am one of those people who had a pullet that laid two eggs in one day. Agatha was on the nest when I went out to do morning chores. While I was out there, she stood up on the nest and dropped a beautiful blue egg. I took it out of the nest, still warm and sticky, that night when I went out to lock up, she was back on the same nest. I chuckled and reminded her that she'd already laid for the day, and I was going to roust her out of the nest. But I got a repeat of the mornings performance and she laid another perfect blue egg. I know it was Aggie - she was the only crean colored EE I had - and the second egg was as warm and still wet as the first. I physically saw her drop them both. She never did it again. But it was kinda cool. I even came here and asked if anyone else had that happen.
