This is how I attached the door frame on the first hoop coop...

I took my dog Cleo to the vet today, and let him relieve her of her suffering. She was 13-14, with crippling arthritis and dementia, but she was loved and had a good "run".

So sorry 😔, it's a shame when they get old

Cleo❤️

It all looks good, repurposing the metal is a great idea!

Today's work...

I found Ron's stash of spray paint, woo!

Painting the metal, both sides.

After the paint has dried I raised up the metal so the top of the cattle panel arch was covered, no gap:

I slid the ends of the 2x4 through the cattle panel, then reattached the screws and fender washers.

And I wrapped my newly planted raised bed in plastic, as we're supposed to get a Arctic Blast later this week.

I'm sorry about your pup Cleo ❤️
So sorry to hear about Cleo. What a sweet looking girl! Sounds like she lived a good long life and received lots of love and care from her family ❤️
❤️ Cleo :hugs

Debbie is a beautiful cat!
Thank you, all. Cleo was surrendered to the animal shelter, slated for euthanasia at age 7 but was rescued by a lady who couldn't stand the idea of such a loving dog being PTS. We adopted Cleo from her after our Tirzah died, and Cleo lived with us for the next 6 years.

I keep expecting her to come down the hall and into the kitchen to greet me.

We had strong winds today, but the metal back to the new hoop coop stayed attached.

That's the good news.

Now my quandary...

I repurposed the metal shed wall for the hoop coop end wall, even figured out how to secure it at the bottom.

But how to attach the hardware cloth that will be placed over the hoop to the metal wall?

I was thinking of leaving about 4-6" overhang at the end of the edge of the HWC, bending it over and down inside the coop, but it appears that screws and fender washers won't attach well without wood to screw into, see sketch:

I don't want to try to cut the metal. I don't think it's going to fold over easily either.

Any thoughts?
