Brown Reds, from what I've seen typically have slate/white legs. For Strain of fowl I'm talking. Is there a chance he’s pure because the breeder said he was a pure brown red
But color is more a Gold variation of Brown Red.

Got you and based on what you see what do you think could be a good cross with this birdBrown Reds, from what I've seen typically have slate/white legs. For Strain of fowl I'm talking.

Hard saying for sure, it would be more guess work then anything.Got you and based on what you see what do you think could be a good cross with this bird
Sorry that's one of the ones I don't know much about. The only thing that really throws him off is the legs. He appears to have yellow and green legged fowl in his history. He could be pure bred cause it is practice to infuse a different breed into a pure bred line then outcrossed. what that does is give the breed more vigeor or to correct things that happens from breeding too tight, like getting on the small side or defects like a tilted tail. It is also done to give the breeder an edge in the pit. Like tohit harder or fly (break) higher. Just a theory but if something yellow legged was bred into him way back when (I believe brown reds are usually green legged) like a sweater for example to speed the line up a bit that's totally plausible. When you do that you will get what's called a throwback from time to time. It's just some trait of whatever was crossed into the line coming out every now and then. It would be a cull most likely or at least not used for breedingIs there a chance he’s pure because the breeder said he was a pure brown red
