Garden and poultry dust for mites

You can spot apply by lifting the feathers and shaking it directly on the skin then working it in with your fingers in the fluff under the vent, under each wing, under the hackles, on the back and on the chest.

Or you can put the hen in a canvas bag with her head out and shake a bunch of dust on her, close the bag around her neck with your hand, hold her body under the bottom of the bag and carefully shake her to dust her. I would do this outside because as soon as she comes out of that bag she's going to shake off and the powder will go airborne.

Ok. I think I'll go with the first method! When should I reapply?

After 7 days.

And you will need to treat your coop. You will need to strip it bare then spray it with permethrin based spray paying particular attention to areas where wood meets wood, let it dry and rebed. This will also need to be repeated in 7 days.

Can I mix the poultry dust powder into the coop bedding? Or their dust bath area?

You you can but in order to be truly effective you need to spray the coop making sure to get into the crevices where the mites hide during the day. Otherwise you're going to be chasing your tail trying to keep up with the life cycle of the mites.
