I already have these birds in my breed of choice, but have not been able to find what their genetic make up is.
I am hoping to use them in some more color projects, but cant find them on the calculator to get a look at what makes them , well ginger red.

If any of you know what this color carries I'd like to know. That way I can anticipate what their cross out comes will be and not waste my time of stuff that wont work.
Thanks

Ginger Red's are Black Breasted Red (BB Red) with Dark Brown (Db) added.
If you take Ginger Red and add Silver (S) you have Silver Ginger.
If you take Ginger Red and add Cream (ig) you have Cream Ginger.

I'm copying this from elsewhere because I was interested in the color myself. In my case, I was referring to Phoenix, Onagadori, and Ohiki breeds and the term "Shojo" and ginger can be interchangeable as to meaning both color, pattern, or both...................................Chrisf..................................

If it is wheaten based shojo, than it's dominant over bbred in both males and females. But if the males genotype is gold quill (like for instance from Hamburg fowl, gold quill have blue legs) than your males will be shojo like and the females black patterned gold. ..complicated stuff..hahaha

anyhow..working on shojo for a couple of years now. It is more complicated for us as we had to deal with influences of redshouldered yokohama aswell..that mixes up everything. Here some of my females come out shojo incomplete columbia, good shojo, and light- to red variety wheaten. The males bodies are always pumpkincolored but the tails are either blue or white or completely buff. This year from a pumpkinbodied white tailed rooster x shojo girls all offspring (15 chicks) is buff-bluetailed. ( so far it seems that it works the same as with blue. (black x splash = 100% blue) so that would mean next cross of blue tails x black or blue tails would give solid black...oooeh floating offtopic aswell

No need to critique your bird Chris, he's lovely. Just great to see others working on this color aswell
And fantastic to see how combined love and effort for these birds have made it happen that this shojo girl got to you David!!
