Giant egg!!!

I thought this was worth posting a picture of--our Australorp, aka Black Mamba, tends to lay huge eggs but has recently laid two like this one. GINORMOUS! Can't even close the egg carton...

We have had some huge ones as well! They looks like dinosaur eggs After weighing them, they are 2-2.5 x larger that the others. Should we watch for vent problems with our girls? We are not sure who the layer is.

Our BR's just started laying and their eggs are about medium so far. We did get one large size egg last week. My husband just cracked it to cook and it was a double yolker! There have been no large ones since, so I assume it was just a fluke. She's been laying an egg a day for 2 weeks, and the 2nd BR just started laying yesterday.

Pretty much guarantee you it's a double yolker. I get about one a week, and they are always huge eggs like that
