I got a new female goat last sat. She is a yr old today. She was living with around 40 or more other goats. Including her mom. We tried putting her with our 2 billy's. Bad Idea. They fought. So we took her out. Tried just putting 1 in with her. But that seemed to upset her more. So tried the other. No dice. She is close to the boys and can see them. Sometimes she is really calm but mostly she just hollers all the time. It breaks my heart. I don't know what to do for her. She is not in heat yet been watching. She does not seem to eat alot. She has had all her shots and been wormed. If I stay with her she is fine. But I can not be with her 24 hrs aday. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me please? It breaks my heart to hear her hollering like that.

I did. noone has answered yet. People laugh at me all the time because I worry so much about all my animals. Can't help it I love them all like my kids. Thanks

Odds are she was just removed from her family. In my herd the female families stay together (mother, daughters, grand daughters) in their own little sub herds. So, she is missing them. You should probably look into getting another female goat pretty quick, as you don't want her running with two bucks (I let my boer bucks run with herd, but it is one buck with many does). She is going to need company.

Do you think she just yells when your around or home? Mine do (whole barn) just get me to pet them. Goats will fight new ones just like other animals to pick order. For the eatting thing, just watch and make sure she isn't losing weight, if the hay is different she may just need time to like yours. Hope this helps, I hate to hear those cries.

Thank you all so much. ky goat lad. I bet that is it. She can see me through my kitchen window. And she just hollers. We are trying to get her a friend quick. Who knew goats were so pathetic sounding when crying. I am learning so much. Thanks again will try all ideas.

Goats are herd animals. I think she just needs a gal pal to keep her company. My does are never interested in the boys except around breeding season.
Our little family groups stick together- When mama goat died, gramma started taking care of baby 'til she was older, then baby goat adopted by another doe.
