All goats are good, they're no longer allowed outside without supervision because my troublemaker, Herbie, attempted to break into the chicken house again.
My pregnant nanny, Strawberry, will be giving birth this week! Anyone want pics after they're born? She's supposed to have twins!
i want pics. Hope the birth goes well.:fl:fl:fl:pop

What breed are they?

I don't have any experience with goats, but rabbits get bloat and simethicone, (which is gas-ex) is THE go to treatment. It saved several of my rabbits on more than one occasion. I don't have rabbits now, but if I get any more, simethicone will be my second purchase.

I am having a horrible day!! My three Nigerian Dwarf goats (1 is pregnant!!) got into the chicken house and knocked over the feeder resulting in 50lbs of feed spilled on the floor. The goats had free range to it for about 20 minutes before I discovered it.

It was medicated chick starter grower.

I'm currently reading on several different websites, I just need as much advice and info as possible. The vet is closed today, but I'm trying his emergency line. What do I do??

I'm freaking out because somebody had something similar happen and it killed ALL her goats!
My goats would ALWAYS get in our chicken feed. Once they almost ate the whole bag.....
And they're still alive. I believe they will be fine.
I would buy a metal trash can to store the feed in so your goats don't get to it again. That's what I did and they never got to it again.

How do you like that breed? We want to get some!
I like Nigerians more than any other breed. We had pygmies before and it's not even a competition. Nigerians are very friendly and loving, they are good dairy goats from what I've heard, I just don't use them for that. I know a place in Shelby, NE that makes soap and stuff out of the milk. They also sell babies.
I like wethers more than bucks or does. My wethers have always been amazing, super tame, and fun.
I 100% recommend the breed. :)

We are thinking about getting 2 wethers for weed control and pets! Do they get along with your chickens? (assuming that you have some:oops:)

I had chickens when I had goats. Sometimes a chicken would hitch a ride on a goat's back and occasionally a goat would grab a mouthful of feathers from a passing hen. Just make sure the goats can't get to the chicken food.
