Hi, I am considering raising Pilgrim or orpington geese. Eventually, I want to raise both. I just want to know if you have any tips regarding these breeds or other breeds that are docile. :)

I got some pilgrim this year. I haven't run through a spring with them as adults yet, so we will see how it goes here. My buff geese were pretty noisy this past spring, but not too aggressive over their eggs. Both breeds I read were docile.

I have a pair of Giant Exhibition Dewlap Toulouse ganders, they're coming up to four months old now and live outside in the garden. They're very quiet and I mean, very, I live in an urban area with neighbours directly to either side of me and opposite and nobody has complained about them being a problem at all.

The breed is used for making foie gras and were chosen because of their ability to rapidly gain weight but also how docile they are, you want a docile goose if you're going to be handling them regularly to force feed them (Don't worry, They're pets and I have no intention of putting them through such a horrible practice)

They're not very pecky at all, just the usual inquisitive nibble - I mean, you've got no hands, you have to test stuff out with your beak, right?.
